Preparing a cup of coffee, is also art
There is no doubt that love comes in through the eyes.
This
may also be applied to one of the most consumed drinks in the world, coffee.
As consumers, we know that there is nothing better than going to a coffee
shop and getting a nicely presented cappuccino set on our table. And by
nicely presented we mean frothy, with cinnamon or sprinkles on top or maybe
with a cookie aside, all depending on
our personal taste.
However, something called “Latte Art” (also
known as “Coffee Art”) has definitely changed Latté’s presentation.
“Latte Art” concept refers to the creation of
different shapes with the help of milk’s froth on
a
Expresso coffee base. More
and more baristas are applying the two most popular techniques for preparing
“Artistic Coffee”. Both methods are explained as follows:
Free
Pouring: For this method, you need to manipulate milk coming from a jar
in order to create different shapes. This method gives the barista the
freedom to play with the froth and create very personal designs.
Etching:
for applying this method, you must have some special elements such as
etching tools, powders and froth. Froth and powders will be poured on the
tools which already have predetermined shapes.
This new way for presenting Latte has been so
successful that many contests for baristas have taken place in
different
parts of the world. At these contests, baristas try to create the funniest
and most original designs.
This has proved that coffee is not only a
delicious and energetic drink, but it has also turned into a way of
expression that travels directly from the cup to your senses.
